If you focus on the initial "drop-cap" characters V and M, you'll notice how they enact some of the semantics of the title of this presentation: the slopes of the letter V suggest the valley metaphor and the peaks of the M represent the two mountains. Visual elements in communication are nothing new, but recent developments in both communications media and theory have given them new presence.

This project focuses on that presence.
